Severity Escalation
Symptoms can automatically escalate in severity based on time or conditions.
Escalation Triggers
Time-Based
Severity increases if unresolved:
- Warning after 30 minutes → Critical
- Critical after 2 hours → Emergency
Condition-Based
Severity changes with metrics:
- Speed 10 over → Warning
- Speed 20 over → Critical
- Speed 30 over → Emergency
Frequency-Based
Repeated occurrences increase severity:
- First occurrence → Info
- Third in an hour → Warning
- Fifth in an hour → Critical
Escalation Rules
Escalation behavior is configurable:
- Time thresholds per severity level
- Condition thresholds for transitions
- Maximum severity cap
- Reset behavior on acknowledgment
De-escalation
Symptoms can also de-escalate:
- Condition improves (speed reduces)
- Time without worsening
- Manual operator override
Escalation Notifications
Each escalation can trigger:
- Additional notifications
- Different recipient lists
- Elevated channels (phone vs email)
